Floral Linen Suit for Tonner

This might be my last post for a few weeks because, with a broken right wrist and a cast up to my elbow, I can barely type much less sew.  Such a bummer because I have a lot of new fashions in the pipeline.  Wonder if I can learn to use left handed scissors.

 

"Mink" for Tonner and Gene

I'm not going to say much about these faux mink coats today because Tuesday I tripped over Fred, my friend's Golden Retriever, and broke my right wrist in two places.  I never have been great at typing but now it's REALLY slow-going.  

Rose Silk Satin and Faux Fur for Tonner Tyler

SOLD   Brenda Starr is all evening glamour in a OOAK vintage inspired sheath dress and furry jacket.  The ruched waist dress is made from beautiful rose silk satin charmeuse and is fully lined in silk habotai.  The faux fur bell-sleeved jacket is lined in the same matching silk and features a silk satin bow.  The jacket closes with a hook and thread loop.  The matching silk hat is wired inside and can be shaped to fit the doll's head.  The clutch purse is genuine suede and features a jeweled embellishment.

Vintage 1961 Repro Dress and Jacket for Tonner Tyler

 Tyler is channeling 1961 in a OOAK reproduction of a vintage fitted sheath and jacket.  The sheath dress, cropped jacket with shawl collar, and pillbox hat are made from fine lilac raw silk and fully lined in silk habotai.  The dress has working pockets, a tiny bow detail, and closes in the back with snaps.  The jacket has button over snap closure. The bag (does not open) is crafted from faux leather.

Vintage for Grace

 I didn't set out to create this pattern for Grace or other RTB-101 dolls but as I was making it up, it needed alterations in the waist to fit Tyler.  Since Grace's big rubber butt wasn't an issue, I decided to try it on her and, lo and behold,  Grace had a new dress.  This is a reproduction of a 50's vintage design made from cotton lawn fabric from Spoonflower and lined entirely in a matching fine silk/cotton blend.  The dress has a full, gathered circle skirt and removable matching belt.  It closes with snaps in the back. The matching bag is made from aqua faux leather, and the gloves from fine knit fabric.

Plum Curly Lamb Coat and Silk Shantung Dress

 It's hard to see the color in the photos but I scored the last piece of this "famous designer" faux curly lamb fabric in a deep plum color from Farmhouse Fabrics.  So a vintage inspired evening look was in order.  The dress is made from silk shantung and everything is fully lined in light purple silk habotai.  The clutch bag is faux leather and has a rhinestone closure--another one of the Charmalong findings that I found at Michaels.  The headpiece is wired inside to shape to the head, and both the hat and dress are embellished with rhinestone buckles from inthepinkroom on Etsy.

One Vintage Pattern--Two Dresses

 I drafted a new pattern based on a photo of a vintage pattern with a shirred bodice and a cute tie front.  The short sleeved, full skirted version is made from cotton lawn designed by valeri_nick on Spoonflower in pretty spring colors of green, white and lilac, and is accessorized with a with a white hat made from aida cloth and a lavender faux leather bag.  The dress closes in the back with small snaps.  Bodice is fully lined in matching silk/cotton fabric.

I liked the bodice so much I made the second version with three-quarter length sleeves and a straight skirt from green silk satin with a matching envelope clutch with jeweled embellishment.
