Vintage Inspired Ruffled Party Dress

 

The inspiration for this flirty dress came from a vintage pattern book circa 1960, I think.  Scroll to the end for the inspiration picture.  The illustration seems to represent a satin fabric but I wanted to try this out first in a less challenging fabric so I used a floral printed ramie and it turned out so fun.  Instead of the flowers at the hip, I wanted a fun giant bow.  The dress is fully lined in a light lavender silk/cotton voile and closes with snaps in the back.   Although it's snug in the hips, this dress also fits 16" FR Poppy Parker or Tulabelle.
